NIMPE partners meet in Manchester to attend “European Futures” a closing event of the 2,5 year programme
Time has come to meet for the last meeting of the 2,5 year programme of the Creative Europe project NIMPE. While all partners are preparing their national dissemination activities, our UK partners Root Music , Band on the wall and Brighter Sound have organised a series of events and the closing event “European Futures”
In these turbulent and ever changing times what does the future hold for musicians, music businesses and arts organisations working in Europe?
European Futures is a free afternoon of discussion, networking and live music, exploring the value and future direction of creative european collaborations and the very latest news regarding funding from Creative Europe.
Aimed at musicians and creative organisations interested in working in Europe, you’ll hear about some successful and exciting projects, the latest news regarding Creative Europe project funding and be able to ask questions about the future of EU relations for musicians, music businesses and arts organisations.

Thursday 2nd May – Venue: Band on the Wall

Friday 3rd May
10am -11am – Venue: Band on the Wall
- Presentation Gavin Sharp CEO of Inner City Music
Inner City Music are owners and operators of the iconic Manchester venue Band on the Wall. They are also a project partner for the Music-Net national touring programme lead by Root Music. Following the award of £1.65 million capital funding Band on the Wall will undergo redevelopment to create a world-class space for music performance and education. Gavin will present details of the project.
1pm – 3 pm – Venue: LEAF
- Conference event: European Futures, presented by Root Music and Brighter Sound
The event will consist of three presentations and a performance and will allow ample time for Q&A, networking and discussion. The aim is to bring together UK organisations that are either already working in Europe or hope to do so in the future as well as providing a networking and dissemination opportunity for NIMPE partners. The British Council have agreed to take part and will circulate details of the event as part of their national e-mail outs.
3pm – 5 pm – Venue: LEAF
