Bowrain Solo artist, composer that performs either solo (piano + electronics) or with a band (with guitarist and drummer)
I consider myself a composer with my main tool being piano. That doesn’t mean that I won’t use other instruments as well. Lately I am working with cellist and electronics. ” “In the last 12 months I have been very busy. My main project was the release of my second album Bowrain – Distracted (Kapa Records). The making of it lasted a very long time and it was connected with moving back to my home town (Ljubljana), after a long period of living abroad (Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Philadelphia). The album Distracted was released on a vinyl format and the release concert was a special audio – visual event in Ljubljana, with great guest artists joining me. In January 2018 I have been fortunate enough to perform on one of the biggest showcase festivals in Europe (Eurosonic – Noorderslaag 2018), which was very special.
I was also able to perform at main Slovenian jazz stages as well (4th European Jazz Conference, Jazz Festival Ljubljana). In the summer of 2017 I was performing in Lisbon and Azores with my side project Phila (with Pedro Lucas from MEDEIROS/LUCAS). Lastly I have composed music for art – theatre related works. Working with with artists from other art fields is also one of my big interest. At the moment I am looking forward to play more showcases in April (Westway Lab Festival, Spring Break, SHARPE…).
