Melentini is a singer-songwriter, musician/performer established in Berlin. Her second Lp “ZRSHA;fundus uterus” was released in 2018 on united we fly record label with music producer Richard König. The official video for her song Asana /metamorphosis from this album was created by the berlin film production 6th finger studio under the artistic direction of Evelyn Bencicova and it was nominated at the berlin music video awards.She is the principal songwriter and lead singer of the electronic independent collective Sequence Theory Project and founder of the nu jazz/avant garde band the Running Blue Orchestra.
Melentini has composed music scores for several short films, theatrical plays and dance videos, as well as the soundtrack for the feature film Afterlov /Αφτερλωβ (awarded in international film festivals of Locarno, Thessaloniki and Mons). Her songwriting is influenced by a variety of musical genres, including nu jazz, avant-garde, ambient and electronic music, and incorporates references to afro-soul, Irish folk songs and Balkan lullabies amongst others. Among her many releases and collaborations with different producers and artists such as the radio hit “nightkisser” with the Blue Square, she worked with legendary producer Steve Jansen (Japan, Nine Horses) on his latest album, “Tender Extinction”, for which Melentini wrote the lyrics and recorded vocals and trumpets for the song “Sadness”.
Melentini’s previous solo releases include the 2016 EP “Λεωφόρος Εφιαλτών /Leoforos Efialton,” an independent work in Greek which the artist released on her personal bandcamp page. Her 2013 album ‘Explosions Around, The Desert inside’ was released on CD in 2013 by Restless Wind and on vinyl in 2014 receiving exceptional and enthousiatic reviews. Her song “gone are the days” was selected among the best songs from around the world for March 2013 by the guardian.uk
